I used to live in Santa Clara, California (seven miles from the Super Bowl stadium).
Next to my apartment was a wonderful little park. On weekends, a mariachi band would play in that park. The music sounded so bright and happy!
My neighbors in the apartment below mine were Hispanic. Each year, they would set up a piñata for their little boy's birthday. There would be music, and laughter, and the aroma of amazing food.
An Indian family lived in the apartment across from me. The women in the family wore beautiful saris. So pretty! So graceful!
In the apartment next to me lived a Black pianist. In the evenings, I would leave the door open to hear my neighbor play his keyboard while my friend Bob strummed a guitar.
My world was filled with vibrant colors, happy music, exotic spices, delicious food, and beautiful people.
And gentleness. My neighbors were kind and joyful. As far as I was concerned, I lived in heaven on earth.
Bad Bunny's Super Bowl performance reminded me of those happy times. (A Gentle Reminder: Bad Bunny is Puerto Rican. Puerto Rico is part of the United States. In my opinion, Bad Bunny is a superb representative of what it means to be an American.)
In my younger days, I worked at EPCOT Center, in Florida.
My life consisted of exploring all the amazing countries and cultures in World Showcase and all the incredible possibilities in Future World.
I believe in a Star Trek future - in a universe filled with diversity, equity, fellowship, compassion, cooperation, exploration, and discovery.
My world is not confined to a white bread existence (yawn).
My world consists of a Technicolor Paradise. 💖
