Kansas Ken's Kick-Ass Chili

I have always liked chili. Still, I never gave it much thought until I tried a Kansas friend's version. I could eat this chili every day of the week (and twice on Sundays).

This recipe makes
3-4 Servings.

Ingredients:

½ pound Jimmy Dean Premium Pork Regular Sausage

½ pound Ground Beef Chuck (80-20 fat percentage)

1 16-ounce can Bush’s Pinto Beans (undrained)

1 14.5-ounce can Hunt’s Petite Diced Tomatoes (undrained)

1 10-ounce can Original Rotel

1 1.25-ounce packet McCormick Original Chili Seasoning Mix

½ can Water (use the Rotel can for measuring)

Instructions:

In a soup pot, mix together one can Bush’s Pinto Beans (with its liquid), one can Hunt’s Petite Diced Tomatoes (with its liquid), one can Original Rotel, one packet of McCormick Original Chili Seasoning Mix, and ½ can of water (add more water, if needed).

Bring these ingredients to a slow simmer.

Brown ½ pound Jimmy Dean’s Premium Pork Regular Sausage. Spoon cooked sausage into the simmering chili.

Season ½ pound Ground Beef Chuck with garlic salt and onion powder. Brown the beef and then add it to the soup pot.

Simmer the chili for 45 minutes to one hour.

Serve Kansas Ken’s Kick-Ass Chili with corn chips, shredded cheese, and sour cream.

If you want to do things Kansas-style, include Cinnamon Rolls in your menu lineup. In Kansas, Chili and Cinnamon Rolls are a match made in heaven.
